PoP MOVES UK is the founding node of the PoP MOVES international network. PoP MOVES began in 2007 as ‘Popular Music and Dance Matters’ at the University of Surrey, and in 2010 expanded to connect popular dance scholars across a number of UK universities under the new title, PoP MOVES. Since 2007 we have run annual conferences in the autumn and additional research events, such as student symposia, seminars and curated conversations in the spring. We have a long running association with the Society for Dance Research. We aim to promote popular dance research both within the UK and in collaboration with our international colleagues.

The PoP MOVES UK Committee meets approximately four times a year to co-ordinate our activities. If you are interested in joining the committee, please contact uknode@popmoves.com.
